The SOP Your Team Needs Is Somewhere in Notion

The SOP you need is somewhere in Notion. There are three versions, one is approved, and nobody is completely sure which one the team should use.

I built SOP Manager for that moment.

It gives Claude or GPT one place to find approved SOPs, create new drafts, check what is out of date, and show you what needs review. It works with the Notion connection available in each product.

The important rule is simple: the assistant can help with the library, but it cannot approve its own work.

What you can ask it to do

  • Find the approved SOP for a process.
  • Turn a transcript, recording, or set of notes into an SOP draft.
  • Check which SOPs are missing, incomplete, or due for review.
  • Show you the review queue in the order that needs attention.
  • Record a request when the SOP someone needs does not exist.

New SOPs stay in draft until a person reviews them. SOP Manager cannot approve, publish, overwrite, or delete an SOP.

What the plugin can access

SOP Manager contains instructions for the assistant. It does not contain your Notion token, private database IDs, client records, or workspace content.

The Notion connection uses the access you approve. During setup, SOP Manager finds the two databases linked from your copied SOP Manager Home page. It does not use unrelated pages returned by search.

Install it in Claude Cowork

The current download is the tested Claude package, version 0.6.3.

  1. Download the plugin below.
  2. Open Claude Desktop and select Cowork.
  3. Open Customize, then Plugins, and upload sop-manager-v0.6.3.plugin.
  4. In Customize, open Connectors and connect the Notion workspace you want to use.
  5. Duplicate the SOP Manager Notion template into that same workspace.
  6. Start a new Cowork task and say: Set up SOP Manager.

Claude will find the SOP Manager Home page, follow its links to SOP Library and SOP Requests, and report any missing or incompatible fields. Setup doesn't change either database.

Install it in ChatGPT

The same SOP Manager skill is available as a separate ChatGPT download. It uses the same instructions and does not require a marketplace.

  1. Download the ChatGPT skill ZIP.
  2. In ChatGPT, open Plugins, then Skills.
  3. Upload sop-manager-skill.zip.
  4. Connect the official Notion app and duplicate the same Notion template.
  5. Start a new chat and say: Set up SOP Manager.

Try the first read-only check

After setup, ask:

Audit my SOP library without changing anything.

You should get the records checked, the issues found, and the next items for a person to review. The audit should not change the library.
